Privacy Policy

This page describes what information ZoneFee collects from visitors, what it does not collect, and how email correspondence sent to ZoneFee is handled. The descriptions below reflect the actual technical state of the live site.

What ZoneFee Collects from Visitors

ZoneFee is a static website that publishes jurisdiction fee data. As of the Last Updated date below, ZoneFee does not load analytics scripts, advertising scripts, behavioral tracking pixels, session recorders, or visitor identification scripts of any kind. ZoneFee does not assign a visitor ID, fingerprint your device, or build a profile of your browsing.

The only browser-local storage ZoneFee writes is a single key named zonefee-theme, which records whether you have selected dark or light mode for the site. This value stays in your browser. ZoneFee never reads it from a server, never sees it, and never associates it with you.

If you choose to email contact@zonefee.com, that email and your address become known to ZoneFee. See the email correspondence section below for how email is handled.

Server Logs

When your browser requests a page from ZoneFee, the hosting infrastructure receives standard HTTP request information - your IP address, the URL requested, the time of the request, and your browser's user-agent string. This is normal for any website and is required for the server to deliver the page.

These logs are kept by the hosting provider for the period defined by their default log-retention policy and are used to operate the site (debugging, capacity planning, and detecting abuse). ZoneFee does not actively analyze these logs to build profiles of visitors and does not sell, rent, or share log data.

Cookies and Browser Storage

ZoneFee does not set tracking cookies. ZoneFee does not set advertising cookies. ZoneFee does not set analytics cookies.

The only browser-local storage ZoneFee writes is a single localStorage entry - zonefee-theme - which records whether you have selected dark mode or light mode. This entry stays in your browser, is never transmitted to any server, and is not used to identify you. You can clear it from your browser at any time without losing any account or settings (there are no accounts on ZoneFee).

Third-Party Services

As of the Last Updated date below, ZoneFee does not transmit visitor data to third-party analytics, advertising, customer-data, or tracking services. No Google Analytics. No Google Tag Manager. No Facebook pixel. No advertising remarketing. No session-replay or heat-mapping services. No customer-data platforms.

ZoneFee does not embed third-party content (such as social media widgets, embedded videos, or third-party comment systems) that would cause your browser to make requests to a third-party server when you load a page.

If ZoneFee links to an official government source for fee data, clicking that link takes you to the government's website, where that website's own privacy practices apply. Such links open in a new tab; ZoneFee does not pass any visitor information along with the click.

Email Correspondence

If you send an email to contact@zonefee.com (for example, to submit a fee data correction or to request coverage for a new jurisdiction), ZoneFee receives your email address and the contents of your message. That information is reviewed by site maintainers, used to act on your request, and retained only as long as needed to do so and to maintain a brief audit trail of how a correction was sourced.

If you ask for your email address and message to be deleted from ZoneFee's internal records after a request is resolved, that request will be honored.

ZoneFee does not subscribe email senders to any list. There is no marketing newsletter, transactional product, or promotional follow-up.

Children's Privacy

ZoneFee is built for real estate developers, investors, land-use attorneys, and underwriting researchers. The site is not directed at children, and ZoneFee does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that age applies). If you believe a child has emailed contact@zonefee.com and you would like that email and address removed from records, email the same address with the request.

Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy is updated when ZoneFee's actual technical practices change. When the policy is updated, the Last Updated date below is changed in the same edit. Material changes will be reflected in plain language at the top of this section in a future update so that returning visitors can see what changed.

For questions about this policy, email contact@zonefee.com. See the contact page for the general contact policy.
